The Thrill of Running
By John E. Anderson, East Sierra Branch
What was it that drove the earliest mankind to run? Some would say that fear of a predator. I would say that it was an inner spirit that whispered,
“Run and experience the total joy of achieved through the filling of the lungs, the burst of oxygen in the muscles, the movement towards new and unexperienced vistas, the moment of feeling free and the body unbounded by others limitations and demands, and the freedom to fantasize, to wander in the universe, and at the end of the run, the tiredness accompanied with a grand feeling of wellbeing. Yes, it is not just a run, its commuting with the deeply ingrained spirit of the often-forgotten ancients”.
